For almost one hundred years and across four generations of this family business, Amira have been supporting the traditional farming communities of the Terai ecoregion in the foothills of the Himalayas. Amira’s rice is hand-grown by local farmers in paddy fields irrigated by the glacial waters of this ancient mountain range and only the best of each harvest is selected for their unique aging process, where twelve months maturation gives each individual grain a distinctive and aromatic flavor.
Amira brings the highest quality rice to consumers and center their ethos on one simple statement, make something beautiful. Amira delivers beauty in every sense – from the elegant packaging to the sensory experience of enjoying their delicious fragrant rice. The result is Amira’s luxurious rice range, flawless in taste, texture and quality.
Rice has numerous health benefits; it is gluten free, low in fat, a healthy source of folic acid and contains all eight essential Amino acids as well as being low in sodium and a good source of iron, manganese and B- vitamins such as niacin and thiamin. On top of this, a three quarter cup serving of Basmati rice provides about 3g of protein – making it the healthy choice for a nutritious meal.
Amira will be presenting a selection of new and enticing products at Expo East including their organic dry rice range, natural dry rice range, the extra-long grain 1121 Superior Aromatic rice and the unique smoked basmati rice. There will be the opportunity to learn more about Amira’s inventive take on ready-to-eat dishes, featuring sumptuous mixtures like quinoa biryani and basmati rice with kidney beans. There will also be an assortment of Amira’s non-rice products available, including Amira spices, snacks and delicious Amira chocolates.
